Moving to a Churchill retirement development has given Christine Pratt a new lease of life. Her story will convince you that you shouldn’t leave it too late
Christine had lived in Hoole in Chester since she was seven years old.
However she was finding her four-bedroom detached home too large to cope with and made the decision to look for a retirement apartment to buy.
It took her several years to find the right one, but now she has, she wished she had moved sooner.
“I spent 40 happy years in our family home but it was becoming too large to cope with and the running costs were getting very expensive,” she said.
“So I started to look for a retirement apartment in the area but something wasn’t quite right with each of the ones I visited. Then I heard about Churchill Retirement Living’s Eaton Lodge which was just around the corner and enquired about it.
“I kept in regular contact with the sales team and eagerly watched the development go up brick by brick. Finally I was able to view the plans and I reserved my one bedroom apartment.
“It was quite scary buying a property from an illustration but the team helped me with everything and I knew exactly what I wanted and am delighted I did.” 
Christine purchased a one-bedroom apartment on the first floor of the Churchill Retirement Living development with views across landscaped gardens.
“The people who bought my house needed to move in on a set date, but my apartment wasn’t ready so I discussed my options with Churchill and they offered me accommodation in the guest suite at their nearby development Brindley Lodge to help me out,” Christine added.
“It was a lovely few weeks and I was made to feel so welcome and they were able to settle my nerves before moving into my new apartment.
“I am so delighted I made the decision to move. I can’t think of anything else but living here and don’t regret leaving my large home one bit.

“There is so much going on and I have made some wonderful friends. We regularly have coffee mornings and different activities are organised and I was even asked to take part in a fashion show, which was great fun.
“My family are also close by and visit me regularly.
