Later-living specialist Rangeford Villages has launched a new initiative to pay household bills for two years* to those buying a new home at one of their three retirement developments
The offer, for homes at Wadswick Green in Corsham, Siddington Park in Cirencester and Mickle Hill in Pickering, is designed to give peace of mind to prospective buyers at a time when utility costs are rising fast.
Online research conducted by Opinium on behalf of Age UK (January 2022) found that over 75 per cent of over 65s are worried about the rising cost of living, with 54 per cent of those surveyed saying they would have to heat their homes less.
And 43 per cent admitted they would have to either cut back, go into debt, or simply not be able to afford their bills.
Howard Nankivell, CEO of Rangeford Villages, said: “We understand and appreciate the concerns of our prospective buyers in terms of factoring the rising costs of household bills on top of the purchase price of a property.
“With utility firms expected to raise prices by 40 per cent again in October, we wanted to offer an incentive to help alleviate some of the financial pressures our buyers are facing.
“The incentive will hopefully offer complete peace of mind to prospective buyers who can move in, having already saved on their cost of their energy bills, and with future energy price rises looming, now is the perfect time to take advantage of this fantastic offer.”
