Royal Haslar retirement village in Hampshire is having an open day on Saturday 11 October, and you are invited
The Haslar Open Day provides a great opportunity to visit and explore the 62-acre landmark site near Alverstoke, on the South Hampshire coast.
Visitors can also gain an insider’s view into life within the magnificent period buildings, homes that are available to buy and see the exciting changes that are taking place within its stately grounds.
Since the first Halsar Open Day last September there have been a number of exciting developments at the historic Naval site:
- The launch of Coffee Quarters, Haslar’s very own café launched by the Mayor of Gosport
- A visit from BBC One’s hit television series Interior Design Masters with Alan Carr
- Changes to the public face of Royal Haslar, as plans for the new main entrance on Haslar Road are to be announced
- The next phase of development – Solent facing apartment
- Haslar Open Day also showcases a range of local businesses and organisations, offering visitors a chance to get to know the people and passions behind them.
Among those taking part are:
- Haslar Heritage Group with their unrivalled knowledge of the site’s fascinating history will be available to answer questions and queries about the Group, their activities and Royal Haslar itself, with Haslar books and merchandise available to buy.
- The Memorial Garden, where Veterans’ charity Shore Leave Haslar, who tend the garden while providing a safe haven and horticultural therapy to tri-service veterans, are also based and will be open with art and crafts.
- Senior Move Partnershipto offer advice on the challenges of downsizing and the opportunity to sign up for Royal Haslar Downsizing events
- Hub4Stuff, who help find new homes for key unwanted furniture items
- Serenity Care with details of home help and care services that are available
- The Book Shop Lee-on-Solent offering cards, gifts and details of the Haslar Book Club
- Gosport Pilates with Tracy, which offers classes at Trinity House, Royal Halsar.
- The Creek, at Haslar Marina, which is offering a special lunch
- Coffee Quarters, Royal Haslar’s new cafe

“The Open Day is a great opportunity for us to welcome the wider community into the wonderful grounds of Royal Haslar.
“We want visitors to explore the history of the location and the growing Haslar community, discover great cake and coffee at Coffee Quarters, and view apartments currently available.”
Show apartments at Royal Haslar, including those created by Design Masterscontestants, located in Trinity House (the main quadrangle building), will be open to view.
Representatives from agents Fox & Sons will be on hand to answer questions about living at Royal Haslar, properties available and a range of special ‘on the day only’ buyer incentives.
Haslar Open Day takes place on Saturday 11th October from 10am until 15.00 (last entry 14.30).
Royal Haslar is located on Haslar Road, with FREE parking available on site; visitors should follow the signs to the designated parking areas and are asked NOTto park near the Memorial Garden, as the spaces there are for residents only.
