ChalfontHouse_142Audley Retirement’s latest village in its expanding portfolio, is an exciting new-build in classical style

Audley Retirement has long been recognized as a master of style; creating beautiful retirement villages in stunning locations and breathing new life into historical buildings.

Its newest village, Audley Chalfont Dene near the pretty village of Chalfont St Peter in Buckinghamshire, is yet another example of Audley re-creating architectural splendour – only this time on a blank canvas.

Not that you would know it.

Although Audley Chalfont Dene occupies the site of the former Chalfont Centre for Epilepsy, all the buildings are brand new.

The Audley Club which forms the hub of the village is built in the style of a grand house while the apartments and surrounding cottages are constructed in small stable-block-style clusters.

This gives the village a traditional feel making it look as though it has grown organically and is connected to the architecture in Chalfont St Peter, Britain’s biggest village known as the Gateway to the Chiltern Hills.

Audley Chalfont Dene is destined become an important hub for the surrounding community too, with its Lytton Restaurant and Bistro being open to the public and a limited number of memberships available to join the health club. It is also a short distance from Gerards Cross railway station which is a mere 30-minute train ride into the centre of London.

Audley Chalfont Dene will have 84 one, two and three-bedroom apartments when it is finished.

There are still some homes available in the completed first phase which comprises 24 apartments, most with balconies overlooking the ornamental lake and a further eight cottages which are a mix of terraced, semi-detached and detached.

In the second phase of the development, some 52 properties will be built comprising a mix of 11 cottages, and 41 spacious apartments.

“I like the ethos and lifestyle here,” says retired military officer Dr Chris Rawlinson who bought a two-bed apartment with his wife Heather after selling their home in Spain (the couple are pictured below). “If you have to retire then this is the way to do it,” he declares. “They aim for five-star service and this is what we get.”

The couple have also discovered that many of their neighbours have military connections too which has enabled them to make a new group of like-minded friends.

The village evokes peace and tranquility and offers the kind of stylish features designed for the discerning retiree looking to spend his retirement in an exclusive development with hotel-style facilities.

Audley Chalfont Dene is packed with wow factor. The Audley Club has a large fitness suite which can also be used as a cinema, a gorgeous pool with relaxation areas and a sauna, two treatment rooms and a ChalfontHouse_002hair/nail salon.

There is also the Burnham Room which can also be used for arts and crafts hobbies, a residents’ lounge and a cosy library.

Each spacious property comes equipped with state-of-the-art Siematic Kitchens with Corian worktops, integrated appliances and level access showers.

If you are looking to spend your retirement in a spacious, modern home with luxury facilities on site, wonderful staff who will pamper you and offer peace of mind, security and care, look no further than an Audley Retirement Village.
