Enterprise Retirement Living launched Mount Battenhall, Worcester, in typical style with a party of invited guests and owners.

Mountbatten Hall is ERL’s third retirement village and its most historic.

Guests at the opening event last week included the Mayor of Worcester, Councillor Stephen Hodgson and Georgina Britten-Long, the great granddaughter of the property’s original owner Alfred Percy Allsopp.

Alfred Allsopp acquired Battenhall House in 1890 as a home for him and his fiancé Maude.

After years of neglect ERL has now restored it to its full glory.

Guests were amazed by what has been achieved both inside the beautiful building and outside in the landscaped gardens.

During the launch party a string quartet played in the music room while guests enjoyed canapés.

There were tours of the grounds, the show suite and the original chapel in the main building.

The new owners at Mount Battenhall, ERL staff and businesses that ERL has worked closely with over recent years brought Mount Battenhall to life and provided a taste of what living in this incredible community will be like in the future.

“ERL is very proud to open the third village at Mount Battenhall,” declared ERl managing director Neil Davison.

“The launch was a great success and it was wonderful to hear music and laughter in the building after being empty for so long.”
